Claire Field and Associates provides advice and strategic support to key Australian and international providers and stakeholders across the tertiary education sector. We assist education providers and others engaged in the tertiary education to successfully navigate changes in policy, funding and regulatory settings across the vocational education and training (VET), international and higher education sectors, as well the impact of EdTech.
Claire’s recent international presentations include a keynote address to the ‘ISANA International Education Association Conference’ (December 2021), Panel Chair ‘Pacific Labour Mobility Annual Meeting: Enhancing the Mobility and Skills of Pacific Workers through Skills Recognition in the Pacific’ (December 2021), host of ‘In Conversation with the Australian National Skills Commissioner’ (August 2021), Panel Chair Melbourne EdTech Summit ‘The War for Talent: EdTech Enabling Industry Growth’ (August 2021), presentation to the Australia China Business Council Annual Education Symposium (June 2021), Panel Chair ASEAN Australia Education Dialogue ‘EdTech in South East Asia’ (February 2021).
In 2020 she spoke at a range of conferences and online events as well as hosting the ‘Reinventing VET for the Digital Age’ conference.
Claire has been invited by overseas governments and agencies to speak at a range of conferences including the December 2019 ‘For the Future: International Conference on VET Development’ in Beijing, China. In November 2019 she chaired the panel discussion on ‘Harnessing Digital Technology for Application in Workplace Training with Employment Outcomes’ at the ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue in Penang, Malaysia. She delivered a keynote address on quality in the private tertiary education sector at the invitation of the Singapore government , and was invited by UNECSO to deliver a keynote conference address in Myanmar.
In November 2018 Claire was a delegate of HolonIQ’s Executive Program in Beijing, China, which included attendance at the Global Education Technology (GET) conference. In October 2019 she was a delegate of HolonIQ’s Executive Program in Bangalore, India.

Claire Field is a non-Executive Director of apprenticeship provider MEGT and an Advisory Board member of HSD (a tech company providing services to government and private organisations). She is a member of the Australian government’s Pacific Australian Labour Mobility (PALM) Advisory Group and a member of the AVETRA (Australian VET Research Association) executive. She is also the Australian education contributor to the Global Education Market Intelligence firm, HolonIQ.
Claire has worked in a variety of educational institutions including TAFE NSW and a national not-for-profit VET provider. She is the former Chief Executive of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) which represented more than 1,000 private VET and higher education providers. Prior to that Claire held senior positions in State and Commonwealth government agencies with responsibility for policy, planning, performance review, and regulatory reform in the post-secondary education sector.
