Claire Field and Associates provides advice and strategic support to key Australian and international providers and stakeholders across the tertiary education sector. We assist education providers and others engaged in the tertiary education to successfully navigate changes in policy, funding and regulatory settings across the vocational education and training (VET), international and higher education sectors, as well the impact of EdTech.

Understanding Australian education within the global context

Claire’s international presentations include an address to the December 2019 ‘For the Future: International Conference on VET Development’ in Beijing, China. In November 2019 she chaired the panel discussion on ‘Harnessing Digital Technology for Application in Workplace Training with Employment Outcomes’ at the ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue in Penang, Malaysia. She delivered a keynote address on quality in the private tertiary education sector at the invitation of the government of Singapore, and was invited by UNECSO to deliver a keynote address in Myanmar.

In November 2018 Claire was a delegate of HolonIQ’s Executive Program in Beijing, China, which included attendance at the Global Education Technology (GET) conference. In October 2019 she was a delegate of HolonIQ’s Executive Program in Bangalore, India.

Claire continues to focus on what Australian providers can learn from global education trends and how international forces are shaping the Australian post-secondary education sector.

Higher education and VET providers

Claire Field and Associates work with higher education and vocational education and training providers to:

Strategic reviews

Recent strategic reviews undertaken for public organisations include:

  • a review for Taronga Zoo’s registered training organisation (with the Higher Education Consulting Group)
  • an analysis of the impact of digital disruption and technological change in the Australian manufacturing sector for IBSA Manufacturing
  • assessing the delivery profile of TAFE NSW’s Sydney Institute
  • a review of the Department of Defence’s registered training organisation (with Quantum Consulting), and
  • the development of annual Industry Skills Forecasts for various national Industry Reference Committees.

About Claire Field

Claire Field is a non-Executive Director of apprenticeship provider, MEGT and an Advisory Board member to two technology companies: HSD (an IT services provider to government and private organisations) and ReadCloud (an ASX-listed EdTech firm). She is a member of the Australian government’s Pacific Australian Labour Mobility (PALM) Advisory Group  and a member of the AVETRA (Australian VET Research Association) executive. She is also the Australian education contributor to the Global Education Market Intelligence firm, HolonIQ.

Claire has worked in a variety of educational institutions including TAFE NSW and a national not-for-profit VET provider. Her most recent role was as the Chief Executive of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) representing more than 1,000 private VET and higher education providers. Claire has held senior positions in State and Commonwealth government agencies with responsibility for policy, planning, performance review, and regulatory reform in the post-secondary education sector.
