Episode 3 of ‘What now? What next?’
In this episode of the podcast I’m joined by two former Ministerial advisers, both of whom worked for Coalition Ministers with responsibility for VET. Danny Bielik and Matthew Dale help me work through what’s in the Joyce Review, what kinds of reforms the VET sector needs, and how governments and Ministers need to act if reform is to be successful.
Rest assured it’s definitely not a dull conversation as we touch on what’s happening with skills development in Asia, the growing importance of micro-learning, the lack of timeliness in the Training Package model, the ‘dead hand’ of regulation, and the need for much greater transparency of government funding for VET if reform is to succeed.
If you’re interested in VET reform – you’ll also enjoy the first episode of the ‘What now? What next?’ podcast where I was joined by leaders from the TAFE, apprenticeship and private provider sectors.
